Today’s Quote: “As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand.” — Josh Billings (1818-1885)
They fit!
On Sunday I went through a pile of old jeans (36″ waist) and threw out those with rotted out crotches. Out of curiosity, I tried on the one remaining pair and they fit! Another milestone reached on the road to “lookin’ good nekkid.” Now to lose a few more pounds in the next two or three weeks and meet my slightly adjusted goal. I have a reward in mind for meeting my objective but I seriously doubt I’ll allowed to take it.
And the Gods squatted over me and shat upon me
Technologically speaking, yesterday was a nightmare. It was scary, too scary to talk about. I’d just as soon forget the morning ever occurred. I was so stressed I took a nap after dinner and even after I woke up, I was still stressed, almost to the point of being physically ill. Today was much, much better; almost but not quite stress free.
Computer Shutdown Day
Why didn’t somebody tell me that Saturday was “Computer Shutdown Day”? Well, my computer was off for several hours during the day because I wasn’t home. Does that count? Of course, I’m not going to shut down my servers without a very good reason. To see if I can get by without them is not a valid reason. Could I have gone 24 hours without using my computer? Sure. I’ve done it before and at some point in the future, I’m sure I’ll do it again. Would I go 24 hours without my computer if I didn’t have to? Not likely. Why should I? It’s a very useful tool.
March Madness
In other news, on the eve of the big day, I am still totally clueless. I go through this madness three times a year every year and it never gets any easier. At least I’ve made dinner reservations. Dinner will be more than I can comfortably afford but I’ll bite the bullet. She’s worth it.
