Getting medieval on my own ass

Eric Clapton – The Core

Why is exercise equipment so expensive? Even something as basic as a step aerobics platform is a minimum of $30! No wonder I have a hard time getting motivated. Well, that and I’m too lazy for my own good. It’s all the fault of my evil elementary school P. E. teacher. (Well, maybe it’s not all his fault but I still hold him responsible.) But it’s getting to the point where I need to put my trauma aside and do what must be done. I think a 6-foot length of 2×12, a couple of feet of 2×4, a few deck screws and a couple of clamps will make a great platform for step aerobics. That has to be less than $30. I’m sure I’ll feel ridiculous but I’ll close the door and muster up the courage to be ridiculous before God. I’m sure He has seen my man-boobs and would want me to be rid of them.

I don’t believe that Monday will ever be my favorite day of the week. It’s not even in the top seven.

Music Trivia Answers:
1. A) Pink Floyd [The band was named for Pink Anderson and Floyd Council, two of Syd Barrett’s favorite blues musicians. Steely Dan was named after a dildo in William Burroughs’ “Naked Lunch.” Who are Chas & Dave?]
2. B) Opera [Well, I knew it wasn’t the blues.]
3. A) Midnight Plane to Houston [According to, this was written and originally recorded by Jim Weatherly as Midnight Plane to Houston. The name was changed (with Weatherly’s OK) when Cissy Houston (Whitney’s mom, Dionne Warwick’s cousin) recorded it. Weatherly agreed to alter the title only if the rest of the lyrics were not changed. Houston’s version entered the R&B chart, but not the Hot 100. (The made-for-TV movie they made from the song was set in Alaska. I can’t imagine riding a train from Anchorage to Georgia.) I think I’ve taken that midnight trip to nowhere before.]
4. B) Bonnie Tyler [It was written by Jim Steinman, who wrote all of Meat Loaf’s hits, including Paradise By The Dashboard Light, Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad, and I’ll Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That). Like these Meat Loaf songs, this is also very long, running 6:51. (]
5. C) Soup

I got 3 of 5 today (1, 4, & 5)
